Fancy Prance

Grab your sneakers and join Esther's Friends, a 501(c)3 public charity, as we raise funds to support Chicagoland pediatric inpatients!

The name for the Fancy Prance was inspired by our namesake, Esther's, love of being fancy and having fun.

While we will have categories for the entire family (and even a stroller division), the 5K distance is especially meaningful as that is about the distance from Esther's house to the hospital where Esther met with her specialists and stayed during her hospitalizations.

Other distances include a 1-Mile Walk and a Kid Dash! Everyone, no matter how old or young, can get in on the fun - whether you choose to run with a necklace, glowstick, tutu, superhero cape, headband, nail polish - whatever is that one little extra thing that makes you smile and feel happy!

So wear something fancy and fun in honor of Esther's half-birthday on September 20th, while raising funds to help all of Esther's inpatient friends!

Esther's Friends, The Esther Viola Frey Memorial Foundation, was formed to honor Esther, who passed away from complications from her rare genetic disorder, in a way that was fitting with her life. During Esther's two short years she never met a person who didn't instantly become her friend. Thus, Esther's Friends continues in her spirit and provides support to children, and families of children, facing long-term hospitalizations - making all those who benefit, one of Esther's friends.
