Hey Everyone,

I'm participating in a virtual walk/run for Camp Wendake during the week of October 3rd - October 10^th and would appreciate if you would consider donating/sponsoring me!  My hope is to walk/run a minimum of 5km.

I have friends who volunteer at the camp and who are also on the Camp Wendake Governance Committee which help to make camp possible.  Camp is such a special experience for campers and volunteers alike. I would really like to help them out so I would love your support to make camp possible in 2023!

For those needing some more information on the camp:

Camp Wendake is a one-week retreat camp located just outside of Bayfield, for children and adults living with HIV/AIDS and their primary care givers. This camp gives those infected and affected by this disease a chance to be in a supportive environment with peers facing similar challenges in their daily lives. Camp Wendake promotes spiritual healing, physical well-being, and a chance for social interaction, which many people living with HIV/AIDS do not otherwise have. The camp welcomes approximately 80 campers and another 40 volunteers from across Ontario. Operational costs for the weeklong retreat are approximately $40,000, covering everything from meals to transportation. We rely on private and corporate donations to cover all these costs as we have no government funding.

Camp Wendake has just celebrated its milestone 25^th camp this year,  and since it began it as provided more than 2000 participants with an opportunity to be in “a place set apart”. Camp Wendake is staffed and governed entirely by community volunteers.
