Help Nicholas raise money

In October 2018, I was lucky enough to travel to Western Nepal and assist the REACH for Nepal (RFN) Foundation on a school rebuilding project. This was a life changing experience and ever since I have been heavily involved in the RFN foundation and volunteering my time as the ‘Manager for Human Resources & Project Planning’.  

The RFN Foundation is a Canberra based charity that was established in 2015 after nearly 9,000 people lost their lives during the devastating earthquakes that year. The RFN Foundation is entirely run by volunteers here in Australia and 100% of donations are transferred to our projects in Nepal to deliver both humanitarian and development projects in western Nepal identified, defined and prioritised by community and village leaders.

We have recently partnered with a leading Australian Architecture firm to pilot and build the first  Earthquake Resistant Classroom in Western Nepal. These award winning designs were planned over 6 months and we recently completed our first build in 4 weeks under the guidance of the original Architect and Engineer. Not only are these classrooms safer, but they are more sustainable, providing a wonderful educational environment for generations to come. These Earthquake resistant classrooms will be the blueprint for all future RFN building constructions. 

The Hall Rotary Club has been a loyal and generous sponsor and partner to the RFN Foundation since our establishment in 2015, and our charity is one of the five charities that participants on the Aussie Peace Walk you can nominate to raise funds for. 

At RFNs Annual 2023 Gala Fundraising dinner in October 2022, the Hall Rotary Club made a substantial donation to RFN which will fund the design and build of the next two earthquake resistant classrooms at the Shree Amar Jyoti Primary School in Firfire, Tanahun due to be completed in June 2023.
