Know that feeling of exhilaration after a great day riding with your mates? You’ve all pushed yourselves up the hills and tucked in for the downhill free run; you’ve drafted behind each other on the flat like you’re Tour riders; you get back home and your legs are stuffed but your heart’s flying. Imagine if one day that exhilaration was lost to you – whether through an accident or illness you’d broken your neck or your back. You’d be somewhat lost, wondering what the heck happens now … And that’s where the NZ Spinal Trust comes in. Our team are here to help people find their new positive future; their new path; their new exhilaration – with Peer and Whānau Support, return to work guidance, and information and resources to empower your decisions. We have team members all over the country for clients to draft behind when the going is tough, and to cheer and encourage when the ride is sweet. All our services are provided free of charge because of our fundraising efforts, and the TONZ is our favourite fundraising event. We have a small team of passionate, enthusiastic riders with a focus on enjoyment and camaraderie (which is not to say winning is not encouraged – 2021 winner Brendon Vercoe WAS amongst our number after all and will be again in 2023) … and we’re always keen to welcome in new riders who believe in our mahi.
