Help Chloe raise money

For participating in 2023 BMO Vancouver Marathon

My Story…

Friends, I'm so grateful to be able even to TRY to do a marathon. It'll be my first marathon ever, and I've chosen to support mental health as it is something I am passionate about. Why am I doing a marathon, and why choose mental health to support?

1. I was once a little girl who would cheer people on at half and full marathons and was always inspired by the runners' determination to keep at an activity for hours! It felt so empowering to stand with strangers and neighbours to cheer these people on. Seeing how much some of them appreciated it really touched me. When I do this full marathon in 2023, I want to inspire someone too. To dream big, to take action and work towards a goal, whether it is fitness related or not.

2. Mental health is an area of life I am passionately interested in. My goal in my life's work is to help people be free of their own limitations coming from that inner voice we all have. It doesn't always have our best intentions. I help people through vision & self-care board programs that enable us to be visually reminded of what we value most in life, to understand where the imbalance lies in our lives and what direction we would like to aim towards. The theme of this program is around improving one's mental health.

What I like about CMHA:

1. They offer phone calling and text support for those struggling with suicidal thoughts: https://talksuicide.ca/

2. Offer mental health training

3. And much more!

Your support in helping the Canadian Mental Health Association would mean the world to me. Thank you in advance for your support with this goal and for graciously helping others that truly need it.

Description

One of our goals is to support youth mental health early, to give them tools to support their life and most importantly, let them know they aren’t alone in their fight. Whether this was your story as a teen or now, or you saw a family member struggle with mental health and weren’t sure what to do, running for CMHA-VF is a commitment to making the Vancouver Fraser community better.

You are pounding the pavement anyway, and doing it as a mental health ally with a great song pushing you forward will have more impact than you can imagine. You can be the match that lights a child up and lets them know they have a lot of fight left in them.
