As many of you know, my son Ryan goes to Kenneth Gordon Maplewood School (KGMS).  We have been fortunate enough to be able to afford to send him to such a progressive school that provides exceptional support to children with learning challenges.  Not every family with a child with learning challenges can afford to send their child to KGMS; that's why I'm participating in the BMO Run4Hope.  I would be so appreciative if you would consider supporting my participation in this event and by extension, supporting children with learning challenges.  Thank you for your generosity and support of KGMS!

Statistics show that students with learning challenges, who do not receive the support that they need, have a higher risk of dropping out of school, adult suicide, and homelessness. There is a huge impact on a child’s life and emotional wellbeing when they experience an educational program that is best suited to their needs: their self esteem and confidence increase drastically, and they begin to recognize their own personal growth. When students first walk through the KGMS doors, their confidence is low and they may feel that their prospects are limited due to their ongoing social and academic challenges. 

Kenneth Gordon Maplewood School is a leader in the education of students with diverse learning challenges. KGMS offers a place where students can come to be safe and experience a positive, life changing educational opportunity that will lead them to reach their full potential. KGMS prides itself in offering an inclusive community where all students can flourish. 

KGMS is a non-profit organization, located in North Vancouver that supports K-12 students with complex learning disabilities. KGMS helps students reframe the ideas that they have about their future.
