My Story…
I am excited to share my participation in the upcoming BMO Half marathon! This has been a huge personal goal of mine for a long time and with the shenanigans of the past few years I jumped in feet first at the opportunity of the challenge.
Even more thrilling is the chance to support come charities dear to my heart. BC Cancer society and Make-A Wish Canada.
Last year I rang 5-year Thyroid cancer free bell to find out a few weeks later that I have a brain tumor. Happy our medical system kicked into full gear and within 3 weeks I went through surgery to have 95% of the tumor removed and slowly was able to get back to regular life. Shifted my focus to a now or never attitude and the importance of accomplishing goals in a timely matter. Why wait?
The cherry on top is being able to run this race with a group of peers in the Mining Industry. What started as a few drinks afterwork has turned into a huge group of individuals coming to getting to support each other and raise money for some wicked causes.
