My Story…
Third marathon and second shot at Philly which kicked my butt in 2021!
On Sunday, November 19, I’ll be running the Philadelphia Marathon in support of the American Association for Cancer Research. This will be my third marathon (‘20 and ‘21), and third time raising money for AACR.
The first two times were motivated by my mom’s two successful fights with breast cancer. This year, our family got thrown another curve ball. In September, my brother Frank was diagnosed with Post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorder (PTLD), a type of lymphoma as a result of his second double lung transplant this April. Fortunately, his current biologic treatments have been showing progress so we’re hoping he can avoid chemo.
Any donation, no matter how much, will help develop and improve treatments like this. Funding for research is critical to help prevent, treat, and hopefully one day cure people of cancers.
