My Story…
Please donate to to the AACR through my fundraising page and help fight cancer. I'm dedicating my training and this race to my mother, Rita. I love you, Mom ❤️😘❤️😘❤️😘❤️😘❤️😘❤️😘❤️😘❤️😘❤️😘❤️😘 ❤️😘❤️😘❤️
My mother, Rita, just passed away on September 15th, 2023. Miraculously, we had 6 extra years with her. She was Cancer free after being diagnosed with an aggressive stage 4 lung cancer 6 years ago. This gift of extra time is because of immunotherapy, which was new at the time.
Although she was cancer free, her body was damaged by the cancer and by the treatments, having had chemotherapy and radiation (both of which completely failed) prior to the immunotherapy. As a result of that damage, she developed complications that further weakened her and ultimately led to fatal pneumonia. She fought hard and I am so grateful for the 6 year gift that immunotherapy gave to us. Without that treatment, we would've lost her shortly after her stage 4 diagnosis.
We all have loved ones, friends or family, maybe even ourselves, who have had to fight this disease.
Please consider giving whatever you can to help research find more ways to give more people many more years with loved ones.
Thank you! ❤🌈✨
