My Story…
I am happy to be running the Philadelphia half marathon for the third year supporting the AACR. Their cause is close to my heart and has made this experience very special to me.
My dad, who also lost both his brothers to cancer, was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in 2017 and passed in 2019. Throughout his treatment and after his passing I used exercise, and running specifically, as a way to help cope, grieve, and channel my energy into something positive. Running has become a meditative practice for me over the years, and running for this cause (which always falls the week of my fathers birthday) has always felt like a meaningful way to honor him.
