Help Evie raise money

For participating in GMS Queen City Marathon - 2023

I'm running in support of Mother Teresa Middle School

This time two years ago, I couldn't walk more than a hundred meters. To make a long story short, something funky happened in my back and legs that left me unable to move without intense pain. So I went into the hospital for 5 weeks... four of which I was bedridden and reliant on the 45+ nurses... and my husband to rotate me... and care for me. In week 5, my nerves were blocked with 8 crazy needles into my lower back.  We don't know it was or how to prevent it in the future... but I have slowly built back from learning how to sit and find my balance to walking with a walker. It took me over a year to walk one km unaided.

I haven't used a walker in 10 months... and am proud to say that I will be walking the Half Marathon to raise money for the nutrition program at Mother Teresa Middle School.

I have dreams. Dreams to run, to study, and to help other children do that too. I am walking to get a step closer to my dreams... and remove the hunger barrier for one student this year. (197 days of school x $3 a day for healthy meals and snacks = $591).

I know what it is like to be hungry while trying to study. Big dreams can seem pretty far away if your stomach is grumbling. Let's help!

Thanks for cheering me on...

Thank you for helping me reach this goal.
