Help Janice raise money

For the past two years, John and I have walked 'virtually' in the Mississauga Half Marathon during the first week of May 2021 and 2022. We walked the half marathon in person in Toronto in 2018 and were scheduled to participate in May 2020 before the lockdowns. This year John and I plan to walk the 5 km in Mississauga, and in addition, I pledge to you that we will walk a further 21 km using the Under Amour app called ‘Map My Run’ to record the distance and time for accountability.

This is a fundraiser for the Grand Philharmonic Choir with which John and I have sung since 2004.  The funds raised by the Grand Philharmonic Choir at Mississauga Half- GPC5K will go directly towards musical education of both our young and adult singers; will help provide music scores; will help cover production costs of our concerts such as hiring young Canadian soloists to perform with us; will help secure performance venues; will help cover the cost of our community events such as our Sing-Ins, Voice Workshops, and our participation in the opening ceremonies of the Christmas Christkindlmarkt, to name a few.

The Grand Philharmonic Choir has provided world class music to the Waterloo Region since 1922. This year we are performing the Mendelssohn Elijah, Handel's Messiah, the Bach B Minor Mass and Bruckner's Te Deum.
