For participating in Angela Taylor Memorial Run/Walk

My Story…

Hi, The Royal Melbourne ICU has entered a team into this years Angela Taylor Memorial RUN/WALK. I have been working in the ICU for the past 20 years and have always reflected on the Angela Taylor story due to a room which was dedicated to her memory and honour. We build a new unit in 2016 and it was only fitting that the best room in the unit was again dedicated to her ongoing memory and honour. I feel that this year is a great way to celebrate and honour her life as a unit by participating in the memorial WALK/RUN.

Description

The 2023 Angela Taylor Memorial Run/Walk to be held on Sunday 23 April at Albert Park Lake is raising funds for the Blue Ribbon Foundation Police Assistance Dog program.

The Police Assistance Dog (PAD) program has been introduced by the Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation to provide highly trained  Dogs to former or Veteran members of Victoria Police who need physical and emotional support for a range of emotional conditions and primarily Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

The first phase of the Blue Ribbon Foundation PAD program is helping to make the Assistance Dogs available to Veteran Police Members. The PAD Program will be ongoing and additional to our work in honouring police members and supporting hospitals.

Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation has chosen Assistance Dogs Australia (ADA) as its principal partner for the training and supply of high level, police assistance dogs. ADA is an industry leader in this field, with 26 years of experience, is internationally accredited with AAII, a registered NDIS provider and a registered charity with the ACNC.

The normal training time for each dog with ADA is two years at a cost of $40,000.

Your support can help change a life.
