My Story…
Hi friends!
It's my 12th time running the Pride and Remembrance Run! And possibly my most-trained year yet, thanks to the awesome group of people I've found through Queer Run Club. The run has always been one of the highlights of my Pride month.
As always, the run is raising money for some great programs from Asian Canadian Aids Services, Black Coalition for AIDS Prevention, and the 519 (more on those below).
This year, one of the beneficiaries happens to be somewhere very near and dear to me—near in that I spend a good chunk of my waking hours there because it's where I work: Buddies! The funds go towards the Rainbow Seniors Project, an exciting new initiative that builds on some of the intergenerational programming we've been doing with The Youth/Elders Project. I've loved being able to connect across the generation gap through this work, and can't wait to make more space for queer seniors to share their stories next season.
Your money is also helping:
ACAS' community health initiatives (including forest bathing(!) and therapeutic cooking).
Black CAP's services for trans and 2SLGBTQ youth, including mental health services, social services, and community and peer support.
the 519's Kids Action Arts Space, a weekly drop-in for kids 6-9 that prioritizes QTBIPOC voices in their programming.

I’m participating in the pride & remembrance run!
I need your support, as the run is raising funds for 5 incredible non-profit organizations that are doing amazing work in the 2SLGBTQ+ community. The beneficiaries for this year’s run are: Asian Community AIDS Services, Black Coalition for AIDS Prevention, Buddies in Bad Times Theatre, the 519, and the Pride and Remembrance Foundation.
It’s fast and easy to donate, and tax receipts will be issued for every donation over $20. Every donation matters, as we try to reach our goal of raising $300,000 this year! The projects and initiatives that these non-profits are developing will make a difference to so many members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community, and I would be so grateful for your donation.
