My Story…
I have the best, most rewarding job in the world. However, it's impossible to do this alone...
I've witnessed the hopeless become hopeful. I've watched depressed, isolated individuals meet peers who are now lifelong friends. I've had some of the most uplifting and heartbreaking conversations with young adult cancer survivors and their caregivers as they give everything they have to survive and LIVE their lives.
This photo is from our 2022 potluck Thanksgiving dinner. See their smiles, their children, their spouses and friends. YASU (Young Adult Survivors United) is a memory maker.
As I run the half-marathon on May 7th, I run for them and their families. I run for those who are united up above. I run for those who can't run because of cancer and the short and long-term side effects it has caused. And I run with the 28 individuals who also chose to run for YASU this year.
