My Story…
Hey all, as many of you know my mom Maggie endured a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Before she showed signs of the disease she was a vibrant, fun-loving, positive and engaging personality. She loved her family and friends and was always available for a cup of tea and a chat. In addition her dedication to her students as an elementary teacher let her express her love of music, nature, science and her faith. Unfortunately not shortly after she retired from teaching the disease took hold and for the next 15+ years we watched her fade away from us. I have decided to honor her this year by running the Pittsburgh Half Marathon and selecting the Alzheimer's Association as my charity. For those of you that knew her I hope you will honor her memory by making a donation to save others from the pain that this devastating disease causes to patients and their loved ones. For those that were never lucky enough to meet Maggie help me ensure that in the north so distant future no one else will have to experience this heartbreaking disease.
I hope you will consider a donation. Every bit helps us continue to find treatments and most importantly a cure for Alzheimer's in the near future! Plus I'm the one that has to do the running!
Donate to help Emily raise money for 2023 DICK'S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon Weekend’s fundraising campaign.
