I Run to Cure CF!
This will be my 11th year of running the Pittsburgh Marathon for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. I was never really a runner and never really thought I would ever run a marathon. When we received the news that my daughter Natalie was going to be born with Cystic Fibrosis, I came across the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and saw they had a fundraiser event with the Pittsburgh Marathon. I signed up before she was even born and have now done it every year since. Ten years later, and it has become such a motivational tool for the family, a great fundraising event, and has brought us all closer to people in the CF community. This one will be even more special since Lindsey (my wife) has signed up to run the full marathon for the first time as well!
The donations made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation are really making an immediate impact. There have been some really great advancements that are providing fantastic results! Natalie is already on one of the newest treatments and has been doing great these past few years. This drug was only released a few years ago, but they have already made some advancements on it that are also looking extremely promising. Fundraising is one of the key factors for these developments and we won't stop until a cure is found for Natalie and everyone living with Cystic Fibrosis.

Description
Cystic fibrosis is a rare, genetic disease found in about 40,000 people in the U.S. causing persistent lung infections and limiting the ability to breath over time. Those living with this disease are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, friends, and co-workers --all struggling each day just to breathe and live normal, healthy lives.
While there has been significant progress in treating this disease, there is still no cure and too many lives are cut far too short. By participating in the Pittsburgh Marathon on behalf of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, I run to help add tomorrows to the lives of all people living with cystic fibrosis today.
