My Story…
2023 will be my 7th year participating in Pittsburgh's race weekend and my 5th year as a charity runner. I’ve been able to raise almost $3,000 for various charities. It has been so rewarding and it gives my race meaning. This year, I’m doing something a little different…I have decided to run the FULL MARATHON!! This will be my first ever marathon. I am nervous and excited to take on this goal.
Just like last year, MacKenzie will be running for charity too. I will be running the 5k and the full and she will be running the Kids Marathon. The charity we are running for is the Magee-Womens Research Institute & Foundation. I feel like there are so many women around me who have been diagnosed with breast cancer, are having fertility troubles, or are struggling with mental health. These are just a few of the things this foundation is putting time and money into researching. We will dedicate our weekend of running to them.
Our goal is to raise $1,000. Although we fell short of our goal last year, we’re hopeful that we’ll be able to meet it this year. We can’t do it without your help!
