My Story…
I am excited to be "Running for a Cause" in the upcoming Pittsburgh Half-Marathon. The organization I have chosen to donate the collections from my running is "UPMC Children's Hospital Foundation".
Hari & I have been part of GE HealthCare for a long time and have been actively involved in designing for, developing and delivering medical devices to improve patient lives. Hari had been part of Maternal Infant Care at GE HealthCare that designs great products for preemies and neonates. Having the responsibility for research and development to ensure there are right products and right care for children and help them grow well is no ordinary thing, and requires many hands and hearts to come together!
UPMC Children's Hospital Foundation located in Pittsburgh creates and nourishes such a wonderful environment of care for children to thrive and grow. All the proceeds from my participation will go to UPMC Children's Hospital Foundation.

As part of Team Children's, my participation in the 2023 Pittsburgh Marathon supports UPMC Children's Hospital Foundation.
Funds support the patients and families served by UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. Last year UPMC Children's Hospital had over 1 million patient visits and many of the programs, initiatives, and resources that make UPMC Children’s so special are funded by philanthropic gifts. Things like distraction therapy which provides patients something else to focus on during their medical procedures, the Child Life Department which provides many activities to create a sense of normalcy for hospitalized children, and the Free Care Fund which covers the cost of medical care for those that cannot afford it. These areas are not covered by insurance, yet are critically important to helping families face the many challenges that accompany a child’s treatment.
