We Run to Cure CF!
Hello, we are members of the Ringgold High School Lighthouse committee. We are dedicated to bringing positive change to our school. There is no better way to demonstrate commitment to our community than raising money and pushing ourselves to achieve milestones that we never have in the past. We are running in the Pittsburgh Marathon Relay to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The following is our team roster and our personal goals for taking on this challenge and running for a worthy cause:
Abbigale Whaley
I would like to do my part in spreading kindness and hope back to those who may lose sight of the good in our world. We often get jumbled in all the negatives and this is my way of repairing the hurt in those who need it.
Morgan Walsh
My name is Morgan Walsh. My reason for running is to take action, and be part of a community that cares! Since I plan on becoming a physician's assistant by attending Chatham University’s PA program, I thought running in the Pittsburgh Marathon for Cystic Fibrosis would be a great way to give back to the community I am about to be a part of.
Aubrey Esper
Being a soccer player my whole life, I never thought that I would enjoy running without the sense of purpose that running has in a soccer game. By being able to run for a cause like cystic fibrosis, running has become very meaningful to me as a way to support those affected by this illness.
Charlee Leach
Running and track has been a passion since 5th grade, but I always strive to run with a purpose in every single race. Getting the opportunity to run for a a worthwhile charity than can have a direct impact on someone's quality of life is a fantastic feeling and purpose.
Description
Cystic fibrosis is a rare, genetic disease found in about 30,000 people in the U.S. causing persistent lung infections and limiting the ability to breath over time. Those living with this disease are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, friends, and co-workers --all struggling each day just to breathe and live normal, healthy lives.
While there has been significant progress in treating this disease, there is still no cure and too many lives are cut far too short. By participating in the Pittsburgh Marathon on behalf of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, I run to help add tomorrows to the lives of all people living with cystic fibrosis today. Please make a difference and support me by donating to my fundraising campaign today!
Then please consider joining the team! For more information - reach out to Fallon DeRiggi - fderiggi@cff.org
