Help Sarah raise money

For participating in 2023 Ryder Hesjedal's Tour de Victoria presented by Scotiabank

My Story…

Hi everyone - Welcome to my fundraising page for the upcoming Tu de Victoria ride on August 19th.

This year, I'm joining the ride in support of Opportunity International Canada, a charity organization with the vision to create an opportunity to support those who live in marginalized areas to achieve a life free from poverty, with dignity and a purpose.

Contributions are explicitly used to establish local businesses (Micro Financing), create a Health Leadership program to provide health, hygiene and nutrition education within the community, and provide access to quality education to unlock the potential of the next generation.

Please visit https://www.opportunityinternational.ca/what-we-do/ for details on various inspiring initiatives for Opportunity International Canada.

Many thanks in advance for your consideration!

With appreciation,

Sarah Wong.

Description

Opportunity International Canada designs, delivers, and scales innovative solutions to transform the lives of those living in poverty through sustainable livelihoods and education. Made up of a global network of change-making organizations, Opportunity International strives towards a world where everyone is afforded equal opportunity to live a life with dignity and purpose. It was founded with the belief that the marketplace can be used as a channel and means of economic vitality for poor communities. This belief continues to drive strategic and sustainable programs that adapt to the needs of our clients especially now as they face the challenges of rebuilding their businesses while still in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

For too many families living in poverty, this pandemic has not only brought with it sickness, but also hunger and homelessness. Lockdowns and increased health regulations mean many have been unable to work or run the small businesses they rely on for their daily income. In addition, many children have been unable to go to school, interrupting their access to education. These ongoing impacts of the pandemic threaten to drastically set back strides towards ending poverty.

Opportunity International Canada and its Implementing Partners are remaining on the frontlines by delivering strategic and sustainable programs to help families survive the challenges today so that they can thrive tomorrow.
