My Story
This year is my 10 year anniversary of doing this 10km run(walk) in the memory of my daughter, Savannah.
Savannah is my first born who was diagnosed with lymphoma at the age of 5. It was an aggressive fight that we did not win. One of the things that I will always be grateful for is Camp Ooch (now known Campfire Circle). This is a non for profit organization, with the most amazing volunteers, that never failed to bring a smile to Savannah’s face. It was beautiful to witness the joy they brought to every child. The games, the music, the treats… it was always so magical.
Savannah was never able to attend camp out of the hospital, but Victoria did. Campfire Circle/Camp Ooch has an amazing program for bereaved siblings. Victoria looked forward to every summer & weekend camp sessions to reconnect with others that “understood her”. It has been great in Victoria’s grief journey.

Help bring joy and laughter to kids affected by cancer or serious illness
A diagnosis of childhood cancer or serious illness changes life in an instant. For kids and families, their schedule suddenly revolves around medical appointments and hospital stays, with long absences from school. There is no time for simple joys like friendships, birthday parties or sport activities.
Campfire Circle is passionate about helping kids to just be kids, once again. By supporting their in-hospital, community and overnight camp programs, you will help bring joy and laughter to kids and families during their most challenging times, at no cost to them.
As part of the Campfire Circle community, you are helping to create opportunities year-round for kids to build friendships and social skills, develop self-confidence and resiliency, and improve their overall wellbeing.
