My Story
Campfire Circle is an organization for children affected by cancer and other serious illnesses. It fosters resilience, wellbeing and lifelong connections for these kids and their families.
At its heart, Campfire Circle gives kids a chance to feel normal. At camp, they're surrounded by other kids with scars from treatment, peers taking daily medication, and friends living with life-long conditions. They swim, sing, climb, craft, build, dance and get to forget about their illness for a while. Camp becomes a second home for these children.
Campfire Circle's programming is truly impressive (it's the only overnight oncology camp in Canada able to provide onsite IV chemotherapy and blood transfusions), and they also offer excellent year-round programming across Ontario and in-hospital care.
I'm running the race with some of my MBA classmates, and we're trying to hit a fundraising goal together.

A diagnosis of childhood cancer or serious illness changes life in an instant. For kids and families, their schedule suddenly revolves around medical appointments and hospital stays, with long absences from school. There is no time for simple joys like friendships, birthday parties or sport activities.
Campfire Circle is passionate about helping kids to just be kids, once again. By supporting their in-hospital, community and overnight camp programs, you will help bring joy and laughter to kids and families during their most challenging times, at no cost to them.
As part of the Campfire Circle community, you are helping to create opportunities year-round for kids to build friendships and social skills, develop self-confidence and resiliency, and improve their overall wellbeing.
