My Story
When I was 7 years old, I attended Kilcoo Camp for the first time as a camper. I grew up there and have returned every summer since, becoming a leader in training in 2017, a counsellor in 2019, a canoeing instructor in 2021, and a L.I.T. director in 2022. For 15 years I have seen the positive impact that camp can have on children firsthand. The way it can change a life and also how important it is for kids to simply be kids, to be outside with their friends, to be themselves.
I believe the experience of summer camp is arguably more important to the children that Campfire Circle support. Children who have the incredible burden of childhood cancer; who spend days and months on end in a hospital; who would appreciate the benefit of being at a summer camp more than I ever could have. This is why I am running in support of Campfire Circle, for the kids that need it.

Help bring joy and laughter to kids affected by cancer or serious illness
A diagnosis of childhood cancer or serious illness changes life in an instant. For kids and families, their schedule suddenly revolves around medical appointments and hospital stays, with long absences from school. There is no time for simple joys like friendships, birthday parties or sport activities.
Campfire Circle is passionate about helping kids to just be kids, once again. By supporting their in-hospital, community and overnight camp programs, you will help bring joy and laughter to kids and families during their most challenging times, at no cost to them.
As part of the Campfire Circle community, you are helping to create opportunities year-round for kids to build friendships and social skills, develop self-confidence and resiliency, and improve their overall wellbeing.
