Help Peter raise money

For participating in 2023 Tour de Rocks

My Story…

Riding in my first Tour de Rocks in support of family and friends that have been affected by cancer, in support of breakthroughs in cancer research.

After completing day 1 of 3, it’s clear that this is an important and special event, powered by the motto “what can we do, how can we help”. We rode over 80km from Armidale via Rockvale to Wollomombi and further toward Kempsey before returning to camp at Wollomombi.

Here’s an article and video overview, including an interview with my amazing sister-in-law, Mandy Williams, who has completed the tour every year:

Day 2 was tough — more distance with frequent and long hills over 90km from Wollomombi to Guyra. But somehow the ride went better than day 1, helped by some changes to seat height, and more efficient use of the gears. We arrived to camp in the shearing sheds at Guyra Showground and enjoyed our first showers of the ride.

Day 3 started cold but we were prepared and enjoyed the gradual ride from Guyra to Armidale. Less distance at 55km with fewer hills but more wind. We completed the ride with a BBQ on the sport fields at the University of New England.

Thanks again to the leadership team and 100 amazing support crew for creating and continuing this important event. And congratulations to all 360 riders, it was great to meet many of you along the way, and I’m looking forward to continuing many of our conversations.  Ping if you have plans to visit Singapore — our guest room is ready for visitors.

Description

I'm gearing up to make a difference by fundraising for a cause that's close to all our hearts. Raising funds for Cancer Research and Services.

By participating in the annual Tour de Rocks Charity Bike ride, around 250 kms over 3 days, we hope to make a difference. Tour de Rocks relies on the generosity of our supporters to be able to help those in need.

Funds raised are crucial in enabling Tour de Rocks to continue their work in the community. They couldn't do it without the help of dedicated fundraisers like you - every bit counts and any amount you can donate is greatly appreciated.

Tour de Rocks, through their Appropriation Committee, allocate funds to many research projects, community programmes and services. You can see where the funds have been allocated by clicking here:-

Donations made through this platform are secure and will be remitted directly through to the Tour de Rocks.

All donations over $2 are Tax Deductible and receipts will be issued directly to you.

Thanks so much for your support!
