International Avenue Arts and Culture Community

International Avenue Arts and Culture Community strives to provide opportunities for all artists, promotion of the arts and bring a thriving arts community to East Calgary. 

IAACC is fully emersed in creating a safe arts and culturally based community for everyone to enjoy. Some of these include:

• Support artists or community organizations with arts & culturally based projects based in East Calgary.
• Annually we host our LanternFest, celebrating the cultural lantern festivals from around the world. The evening is full of free activities and entertainment followed by a lantern parade after sunset.
• Annually IAACC partners with International Avenue BRZ to present the East Town Get Down, a 1-day independent music festival featuring over 40 artists in 11 unique venues. {2022 video below}
• Artist in Residency Program- 2 sessions per year, 3 months each. Selected artists are grants full access to Fuse33 Makerspace (paid for through IAACC) as an educational opportunity to learn new equipment, new skills, expand their artistic discipline, network with like-minded peers and build community in a safe space. After the Artist in Residency session is complete, 1 artist is selected for a paid internship hosting free public workshops over the course of 6 weeks. This artist further gains skills to teach public classes, share their artistic vision and assist with building a safe arts community. {video testimonies below}
