My Story…
Hello everyone!
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page and for your support in my achievement of running the Half Marathon today, May 28th, 2023 virtually in my hometown of Okotoks.
The reason for the virtual run was because I wasn’t ready physically to run the race as this year has been extremely difficult to get myself training well for the same due to the busyness of life & work, however I did keep up with my regular walks with my two dogs and also some longer runs on the weekends.
This run is dedicated to my parents Jossie and Ruby D’silva as this past year has been extremely difficult with their health. My Mother passed away last June from a prolonged weak heart and Alzheimer’s and in May last year my Father suffered an acute stroke of which today he is in palliative care stage.
This fundraising for the Heart and Stroke Foundation felt very meaningful for me to do through my 21.1km race and today I am so grateful to have completed it virtually although it was very difficult.
My parents have been a huge inspiration to me especially in their final stages of their life. They have taught me like running a marathon to never give up and to persevere even though it is difficult.
They have fought the good fight and have won their races and so have I through my runs no matter the distance or life’s challenging circumstances.
Trusting the process one step at a time.
Thank you for your support in my efforts today.
Much love and peace!
