Help Wesly raise money

Hi, my name is Wesly and my guides  name is Elm. Please consider helping me raise funds for this wonderful group. I’m participating in the Calgary marathon to support RB and the great work they do within the community.  My personal ambitions are to do the following, raise support and awareness for agencies, such as this that help with rehabilitation within the community and raise funds. I know many people who have been impacted by the wonderful work. Arbi has done over the years Born March 19, 2019, Elm is a loveable golden lab with a friendly, thoughtful disposition—a gentle giant as known by others. He guides me safely around the community and provides great companionship at home together. We work well as a team and look forward to participating in the Calgary Marathon on May 28th.

Guide Dogs For The Blind has been around for over 85 years and was founded in San Rafael, California. They provide outstanding guide dogs to their clients and are known and respected worldwide for their training and standards. In September 2021, I returned to Canada with Elm from the Oregon campus of guide dogs. Since then, we have strengthened our bond and relationship with one another.

I'm excited to join Team ARBI to support my friend Mike D., who had a brain injury, and to get out for a walk with Elm to support a great cause! 

Important notes to consider when seeing a guide dog in public. It’s important when the leash is on, and the handler is working with the dog to observe the following:

Don’t distract the dog from their task of guiding by making contact with them either physically or verbally. They are loveable and ready for attention, but the dog has a job to do and must remain focused for the safety of themselves and the handler.
