My Story…
On May 9th, 2018, Sheldon arrived home from work when his wife noticed he was very pale and looked confused. She immediately called 911. The paramedics confirmed he was having a stroke and took him to the hospital. Sheldon engaged in many hours of stroke therapy at various facilities before being welcomed to the ARBI community in 2019. Since then, he has completed six months of intensive neuro-rehab, attended virtual seated yoga classes, and now participates in ARBI’s weekly Walking Group.
Sheldon registered for the Virtual GoodLife Fitness 5KM and will walk throughout June to reach his goal. Sheldon said he joined the Calgary Marathon because “It allows me to get out of the house and stay active.”
