Ottawa Humane Society

The Ottawa Humane Society is a registered charity serving the city of Ottawa. Thanks to the heart-felt gifts from people in our community, close to 8,000 animals receive the medical care and TLC they need to find new homes. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, the Mobile Spay/Neuter Clinic is able to reduce the pet population problem, and humane education programs build a humane and compassionate community.

One animal grateful for your generosity is Isabella. 

It was a cold, dark October evening when Isabella — a 5-year-old German Shepherd — was hit by a car and found in a ditch. 

This innocent dog came into our care with life-threatening injuries. She had a broken pelvis, damage to her lungs and her paw pads were badly damaged. Her condition is treatable but requires expensive surgery — the total cost of Isabella’s care will be more than $2,500.
