My Story…
This year, I've committed to running my favourite distance again now that I don't have the whole postpartum excuse. I'll be doing the half marathon as a Pace Bunny, leading runners to the finish line in two hours. It's a gig I really love so I'm excited to put on my bunny ears once again. While training to ensure I can, in fact, get these runners to the finish line, I am hoping to raise a little money for the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation. We all have personal connections to cancer and I am no different. In 2002, my Papa passed away from prostate cancer. After my Papa passed away, my dad requested that he start getting regular PSA testing. It was because of this process that my Dad’s cancer was detected early in September 2011. Many years later and cancer is still a part of my dad's life. For these reasons and many more, my goal is to have a tiny part in finding a cure. I’m running for my Dad and his Dad and for everyone affected by cancer. I have raised over $1000 annually since 2017, and I hope that I can do the same in 2023.
Thank you for your support over the past six years with my annual fundraising campaigns!
Wishing you a healthy and happy 2023 and beyond!
