Hey everyone,

As most of you know, I never considered myself a 'runner'. But I started slowly training about a year ago and have finally gained the confidence to enter my first 10K race. The final push to register came after chatting with the amazing Chair of the Ottawa Hospital Foundation, Janet McKeage, who told me the story of her friend, Sindy Hooper. An accomplished triathlete and Ironman competitor, Sindy, 60, has stage IV pancreatic cancer YET is still training and competing in this year's Race Weekend. I dare you not to feel inspired by her tenacity, grit and grace. She is a force.
