My Story…
Epilepsy has affected our 21 year old son's health and overall well-being since he was 3 years old. It has also affected us overall as a family. There are so many different types of seizures and we've witnessed Dillon experience almost all of them. It has affected him neurologically and physically which has contributed to affecting his mental health. It has left him with memory loss, scars and bruising, and at times, temporary paralysis. As parents of an epileptic child, it is difficult to envision a future that is normal or socially inviting for them. Currently, we are working with finding the right meds with his neurologist but we hope more can be done to openly educate and offer support within professional and educational establishments. EPILEPSY OTTAWA offers great useful social services and tools that help adults, children, and their families affected by epilepsy. Please donate as much as you, or whatever you can -- everything and anything are much appreciated!
