My wonderful friend John Price sadly lost his fight with cancer recently. He was in his 60’s, far too young. My thoughts are with John’s wife, daughter and all the family.

For over two decades now, John played bass for the Norman Beaker Band, an internationally acclaimed British blues band, recording and touring regularly, mainly in Europe.

Going back to the 70’s when we were in our late teens, we shared a wonderful band experience together with our guitarist and best buddy, Phil. We learnt our craft as musicians, emulating our many idols: Jimi Hendrix, Cream, Free, John Mayall etc.

The loss of my good friend John, has inspired me to do what I can to be part of finding a cure for this terrible disease.

I ran the 5K last year and so I've upped my game to 10K as a personal challenge in my 69th year.

When I run now, I think of John and the music and camaraderie we shared back then, and how we both continued in our own humble ways, to share that musical wellness with the world.
