Our family is participating in the Ottawa Race Weekend this year to raise money for Parkinson's disease (PD) research through the Ottawa Hospital Foundation PIPR group (Partners Investing in Parkinson Research). We are passionate about helping to find better treatments and a cure for PD as the disease has touched our family closely. Sue's mom was diagnosed with PD in 2017 and Sue's dad had Parkinson's also and he passed away in November. Sue also works as a Physiotherapist helping people with PD.
Amazing research is being accomplished and big strides are being made globally towards better understanding the cause of the disease, finding disease markers for earlier diagnosis and treatments leading to better disease management.
