Help us raise money

Shelter Movers is a national, volunteer-powered charitable organization providing moving and storage services at no cost to individuals and families fleeing abuse. We collaborate with local businesses and community agencies to support people, primarily women and children, as they transition to a life free of violence.

Shelter Movers Ottawa was the second chapter, opening in October 2017.     

Volunteering with SMO, you’ll meet professionals, students, and retirees. Our volunteers come from all walks of life and have varying experiences. Most importantly, you’ll meet our clients. And these clients will share their stories with you and leaving a lasting impact on their lives, much like you’ve left a lasting impact on theirs.
