Our story…
Rowan House is a short-term emergency shelter for women and children fleeing abuse. Our mission is to provide crisis intervention, long-term support and education for those affected by family violence in rural communities. In doing so, we work to fulfill our vision: that every person is safe and secure and lives without abuse.
As we work to achieve our mission and vision we support families through our Emergency Shelter program, Children's program, Outreach program (supporting women and children one-on-one in a community setting) and our Preventative Education and Awareness program (school presentations on friendship, kindness, bullying, empathy, healthy relationships and dating violence; 6-week Healthy Relationship Education groups; Leading Change presentations to engage men/boys and community in the prevention of gender-based violence; and education and awareness to the general public.)
All of our programs are offered at no-cost.
