Help Denise raise money

I run to honor the memory of my brother Alfred (Freddy) Luna Jr. and Tia Ruth (Cuca) Fry because they touched the lives of many with their humor, positivity, and resilience. And like many of these men and women, at some point, my brother and Tia dared to reinvent themselves by going back to school, going for a new job, or learning a new trade in the second act of their life. 

When connecting with someone previously incarcerated, people often say they can't believe it. They're so smart, funny, and polite. Why don't people think those who've been incarcerated can't have those qualities? We're continuing to change social misconceptions and let people know men and women who get caught in the system are real people, and each of those people has a circle of family and friends trying to love them as they reenter society.

It takes so much courage to reinvent yourself and begin a new chapter in life, and just like my Brother and Tia, that is the kind of fearlessness these men and women at Homeboy embody, allowing them to redirect their lives and get that second act in life we all hope for.

Team That's Your Pedo has been coming together for the past seven years to remember and celebrate the lives of Freddy and Cuca who had a lasting impact on everyone they encountered. Our commitment to raising money and awareness for Homeboy Industries on thier behalf showcases the power of compassion, love, and solidarity. 

My brother and Tia not only brought positivity to the lives of those around them, but they also made everyone laugh! Our team name is a touching tribute to Freddy and his sense of humor. My brother would crack you up with these three words, “That’s Your Pedo” because if you were lucky enough to know him, he used humor as a powerful tool to uplift your spirit.
