“Palliative Care improves the quality of life of patients and that of their families who are facing challenges associated with life-threatening illness, whether physical, psychological, social or spiritual”.

I feel extremely grateful that I am healthy and strong enough to ride 30km to raise funds for St. Joseph’s Hospice and the Palliative Care unit at Bluewater Health. I am certain that there will be many participants who will be riding on August 6, 2023 in support and/or memory of their loved ones.  I will ride to honour those individuals, knowing that I am contributing to their quality of life, and to dying well. I am personally thankful for the Palliative Care team at Bluewater Health who expressed compassion and offered support to our family during our grandmother’s recent stay. We are forever grateful.
