Why I'm walking for social justice
Greetings to all of my fabulous long time (and hopefully first time) supporters!
Once again this year, I have joined the annual Walk the Walk 5k walk/run in support of all of the social justice programs at Islington United Church. Last year, you helped me exceed my $1,000 target and our team of 25 raised more than $25,000! These funds were and are being used to support church run community programs which include the Mabelle Food Bank, the on site Giving Garden which grows fresh hydroponic & raised bed organic vegetables for food bank patrons, a weekly respite care program for disabled kids (restarting this fall) an education/ information sharing network for Refugee Sponsorship Groups including our Refugee Support Committee team at the church, anti racism and anti poverty initiatives and more!
Thank you so much for your support!
Dennis
