My Story…
Hello friends.
Picking back up my journey into running and fitness after a very long break, I am happy to announce that I am training for full marathon in the Toronto Waterfront Marathon on October 15th 2023. After much consideration, I have chosen to fundraise for the Myles Ahead, Advancing Child & Youth Mental Health Organization.
As someone who has experienced feelings of indifference and social isolation, suicidal thoughts have always been a part of my young adulthood. I have always hid behind closed walls as a result of my fears and struggles in life, therefore this Organization hits close to home for me. I spent most of my days thinking that the status quo of things was acceptable, and that improvements could not be made, thus leading me into a downward spiral of darkness and misery.
Through a loving God of my understanding, and the help of select peers, I stand today recovered, happy and joyous. With this newfound freedom, I aim to make a difference and help contribute to bettering the lives of children and young adults who share the same struggle with mental illness as I once did.
If you’d like to join me in supporting this cause, please feel free to contribute in any way that you can, or come support us in TO!
With Love, Denis Cashman.
