My Story…
"It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are." - E.E Cummings.
I don't consider myself a runner by any means, so not signing up for this event would have been a very easy decision.
From a young age, I made excuses for myself, and discredited my abilities, "I'm not good at X", and "I can't do it Y" became the narrative of my life. On this life-long journey of self-reflection, and while being unimpressed with who I was, I decided that it was time to change the story I was telling myself.
This event isn't just about running a race, it's about being courageous enough to stand up and look fear, worry, and doubt in the face, regardless of the outcome, it's about putting forth a focused effort in everything I set out to accomplish, it's about discovering who I truly am.
With a new set of eyes watching my every move, I choose to become the example, to walk the walk, or in this case, to run the run. I choose not to avoid the hard things, but to wander wherever the heart desires, which is to inspire everyone to live their best lives, and to unlock their potential within.
The donations will be distributed to CAMH Foundation, to drive change for Mental Health & Addiction, as well Children Believe, to help provide health, education, and clean water to young children in less fortunate countries.
Thank you to all that could donate. Your love, support, and encouragement is appreciated beyond words.
