Dear Family and Friends,
I will be participating in the 5K Waterfront Marathon Charity Challenge this October, to help the York University Retirees' Association (YURA) raise funds for the Student Food Bank at the University. A recent Campus Well-being survey revealed that one in four students struggles to afford food. In March 2023, more than 2,500 students used the Food Support Centre (aka the student food bank)-- a dramatic increase over a 12-month period.
Please help YURA in helping the Food Bank support students at York. Their academic success cannot be achieved if they are not getting the nutrition they need. Please sponsor me in this effort--for any amount over $20 you will receive a tax receipt from York University by e-mail. If you prefer not to donate online, please contact me at dwoody@yorku.ca and I will provide details of an alternative way to donate.
