Romero House - More than Just a Place: Romero House is not just a place; it's my home, my community, and a special place for countless refugees. So many describe Romero House as their family because of the love and support they receive in a time in their lives when they are separated from most of the people they knew and loved.

We, at Romero House, walk alongside people in moments of happiness and sorrow. These relationships bring depth and meaning to my life each day. 

The Power of Community and Belonging: The marathon is not just a race; it's an opportunity for newcomers to our city to feel like they belong, to be part of something greater than themselves. It's a chance to connect, to make friends, and to experience the warmth and diversity that Toronto has to offer.

Running is fun! Let's not forget the endorphins. Running or walking in the marathon can provide a much-needed burst of positivity and energy, especially amidst the challenging shelter crisis we are facing in Toronto. It's a reminder that even in difficult times, we can find moments of joy and empowerment.

Supporting Romero House's Crucial Work: Now, more than ever, Romero House's work is of paramount importance. We are in the midst of a housing crisis, and refugee claimants are among the most affected. The shelter, support, and advocacy we provide have a direct impact on their lives, offering hope and stability during uncertain times.
