My Story…
My name is Yohana. I arrived in Canada as a permanent resident last spring, sponsored by the Holy Trinity Refugee Committee. I was born in Ethiopia, but my family had to go to Eritrea because of the war between Ethiopia and Eritrea. After the war, I returned to Ethiopia because of religious persecution in Eritrea. Here in Canada, I hope to continue my dream of building a career. I have just started an office job where I use my three languages, English, Amharic and Tigrinya. My mother and sister are still in Ethiopia. (We lost our father to Covid-19 in 2021.) Holy Trinity has applied to sponsor them, as well. Will you help us bring them to Canada?
