My Story…
I am participating in this year’s TCS Run and Charity Challenge for Gilda’s Toronto, a cancer support organization. By supporting me in this event, you are helping Gilda’s Toronto provide cancer support groups and programs free of charge to adults living with cancer and support to their teens and children. Gilda’s also provides support programs to those who are bereaved from losing someone to cancer. These supportive programs are crucial to individuals and families who are coping with the anxiety and fear when impacted by cancer. Gilda’s Toronto continues to provide online support groups, healthy lifestyle programs, education sessions, nutrition showcases and other programs that are essential for their wellbeing. Their team of mental health provide these individuals and families with much needed support to relieve stress, reduce isolation and provide resources to navigate today’s ever changing healthcare landscape. Please support me as I run for Gilda’s Toronto in the October 2023 hybrid TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon, ½ Marathon and 5K. Gilda’s Toronto provides cancer support programs free of charge to adults living with cancer and support for their teens and children who are experiencing cancer-related stress as a result of living with someone with cancer. They also provide bereavement support to those who have lost someone to cancer. The need for Gilda’s has never been greater. Since the pandemic, many more people with later-stage cancers have sought support from Gilda's Toronto. Your donation will help make it possible for people impacted by cancer, to access and receive the support they need to reduce isolation and cancer-related anxiety. Your donation helps ensure that individuals and families affected by cancer continue to receive the emotional, educational and health-focused cancer support they require.
