My Story…
In January 2001 I was first diagnosed with cancer 22 years later which coincides with when Gilda’s Toronto was founded. I still give back!
In October once again I am participating in this year’s Virtual TCS Run and Charity Challenge for Gilda’s Toronto, a cancer support organization. Since the onset of COVID-19 they have done a great job transitioning their cancer support groups and programs to virtual formats and by supporting me in this event, you are helping Gilda’s Toronto continue to provide these groups and programs free of charge to those impacted by cancer and those bereaved from the loss of a loved one to cancer.
These supportive programs are crucial to individuals and families who are coping with the anxiety and fear brought on by a cancer diagnosis. Gilda’s Toronto continues to provide online support groups, exercise classes, nutrition showcases and other programs that are essential for their wellbeing. Their team of mental health professionals also continue to connect with the children, teens and adults providing much needed support to relieve stress, reduce isolation and provide resources to navigate today’s ever changing healthcare landscape. Please consider supporting me in this event so that no one has to face cancer alone. Thank you.

Please support me as I run for Gilda’s Toronto in the October 2023 hybrid TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon, ½ Marathon and 5K. Gilda’s Toronto provides cancer support programs free of charge to adults living with cancer and support for their teens and children who are experiencing cancer-related stress as a result of living with someone with cancer. They also provide bereavement support to those who have lost someone to cancer. The need for Gilda’s has never been greater. Since the pandemic, many more people with later-stage cancers have sought support from Gilda's Toronto. Your donation will help make it possible for people impacted by cancer, to access and receive the support they need to reduce isolation and cancer-related anxiety. Your donation helps ensure that individuals and families affected by cancer continue to receive the emotional, educational and health-focused cancer support they require.
