My Story…
I'm running the Toronto Waterfront Marathon on October 15th to raise money for Action Against Hunger's programs around the world, including its current emergency relief efforts in Libya, where 40,000 are homeless due to the recent floods.
For over 40 years, Action Against Hunger has focused on detecting, treating, and preventing hunger and malnutrition in the world's most vulnerable areas. In 2022, they helped over 28 million people in nearly 50 countries through innovative, lifesaving programs that treat and prevent malnutrition and empower self-sustaining, resilient communities. The core of their nutrition work is screening children under five to detect and treat malnutrition early in a child's life. They provide food, hygiene, cash and in-kind support during emergencies caused by conflict or natural disasters, and infrastructure and education to help family farmers adapt to the impact of climate change. Action Against Hunger is often the only aid provider in the world's most remote and dangerous parts. 95% of their teams are local to the region they are helping, fostering critical relationships and understanding cultural nuances and the challenges communities face.
Donate to help John raise money for 2023 TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon’s fundraising campaign.
