Join our team & step up to #HelpKeepHerSafe in support of the Women's Centre of York Region (WCYR)!

Since 1977, WCYR has served women experiencing gender-based violence and socioeconomic barriers to success. Our mission is using a strengths-based, trauma-informed feminist approach, we provide opportunities, support and resources to all persons who identify as women on their journey of self-discovery and empowerment. WCYR provides free counselling and life-skill group programming to help women build a sustainable livelihood and live free from abuse.

The Women's Centre of York Region is dedicated to providing support, resources, and education to women who have experienced violence, poverty and related social and economic barriers. With the pandemic exacerbating gender-based violence and inflation at an all-time high, the need for our services has never been more urgent. 

That's why we need your support to #HelpKeepHerSafe. Step up to #HelpKeepHerSafe 2023 to raise awareness and funds for our programs and services while providing vital tangible support to women in need. Our goal is to reach more women in need, expand our partnerships with community organizations, and create a safer and more equitable community for all. 

But we can't do it without your help. The funds you raise will help us provide critical services like counselling, skills-based programming, grocery assistance, transportation, clothing support, and community outreach. It will help us train more volunteers and staff, develop new programs and resources, and raise awareness about the devastating impact of gender-based violence.
