Description
We are lacing up in support of the Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario (POGO) on August 26, 2023.
POGO is a complex organization that delivers patient care programs and also supports survivor care, a family financial assistance program and provides childhood cancer resources across the province and beyond. Funds donated support the highest priority need.
As new treatments and technologies continue to increase the rate of survival for childhood cancer, care for these children, their families and survivors is becoming more and more complex.
That’s why POGO is there for them from the start, and for as long as they need us, providing care, support, even financial help. Whatever it takes to make a difference, and change a life.
Did you know?
- There are over 4,000 families in Ontario with a child in cancer treatment or follow-up care each year.
- Although a diagnosis of childhood cancer is rare, incidence is increasing at an average rate of about 1% each year.
- Nearly 20,000 children and youth in Ontario are survivors of childhood cancer.
- More than 84% of children diagnosed with cancer in Ontario will survive.
- Cancer remains the most common cause of disease-related deaths among children in Ontario over the age of 1 year.
Please consider making a donation in support of POGO and our team - together we can make a difference in childhood cancer care.
